Dynamics 365 Marketing is a marketing-automation application that helps turn prospects into business relationships. It’s easy, works effortlessly with Dynamics 365 Sales, and has an in-built business intelligence.

Plan budgets for marketing campaigns, examine marketing lists, and identify when to use a marketing campaign and quick campaign- with Dynamics 365 for Marketing.

Marketing is a powerful tool to develop a brand and get your company’s message to your target audience. Use proper marketing campaigns, marketing lists, and campaign templates to engage your customers.

Plan and Budget

This is the first stage of Marketing process. During this stage, we should plan what message to send and to whom. We need to determine budget and plan campaign activities like Email blasts, letters, etc. Within Dynamics 365, we can create campaigns that track this information. Now, once we’ve identified the goal and the budget of our campaign, we can start creating marketing lists.

Create and Manage Marketing Lists

Marketing lists within the marketing application provides the ability to create target groups of organizations, contacts, or even leads. They may share common characteristics such as geographic region, has a certain number of employees, leads that have registered a specific web form, or have companies within the same industry.

Member Types

Member Types refers to the type of record from which the members are drawn: Account, Contacts, Leads. The member type cannot be changed after the list has initially been created.

List Types:  We cannot change the list type after the list has initially been created.

Static: List members will not change unless it is manually updated. Therefore, they need to be updated from time-to-time.

Dynamic: List members will always reflect current data. They are based on query criteria.

Plan and Create Marketing Campaigns

Once we’ve identified the target audiences within the marketing application, we can create campaign activities.  These activities could be anything from sending out numerous emails to sending out letters, making phone calls, sending out tweets, Facebook posts etc. The components of marketing campaign include campaign activities, planning activities, target products, sales literature, price lists, and campaign costs.

Quick Campaigns:

They are shorter term efforts used for single-activity campaigns. We can choose who owns the distributed activities and assign these activities to yourself, owner of the record or another user or queue.

Track and Report Campaign Responses:

Once the campaign activities are determined and created, the next step would be to launch and manage the campaign. It’s a response to a campaign activity where a customer or potential customer has indicated their level of interest. It bridges the connection between sales and marketing. They can be converted to Leads, Opportunities, Quotes or Orders. And then the final element to a successful marketing campaign when using Dynamic 365 is to track the responses and analyse the data that’s coming into the system. We can determine its success, potential success or failure by utilizing the built-in reports or other reporting functionality to track the success of the campaign and even adjust as the campaign continues. Likewise, we can also assign it to another user or edit the response.
